Deakin University’s Waterfront Campus is located in a former wool store building right on Geelong’s Corio Bay.
Pedestrian access is available from Gheringhap Street or Western Beach Road. Just follow the “AAAPC Conference” signs to the registration desk.
Most accommodation and other facilities are within easy walking distance of the venue, although Uber and Geelong Taxis both operate and there’s a bus network.
The closest train station is Geelong Station, a short 5-minute walk.
You can plan your bus or train trip in both Geelong and Melbourne (and throughout Victoria) using the PTV trip planner. Make sure you have a myki or your smartphone set up to pay.

AAAPC supports an inclusive environment and we welcome parents with caring responsibilities. Parents’ Rooms are available, for parents and children, and are clearly labelled. Breastfeeding is welcome throughout the conference venue. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
Conference dinner
Monday 11 August with drinks from 6:00 pm and dinner at 6:30 pm at Novotel Geelong, 10/14 Eastern Beach Rd, Geelong VIC 3220, just 500 metres along the foreshore.
The conference dinner is also open to partners and can be purchased with your registration.
Geelong weather
August in Geelong can be cold and blustery. It is advisable to carry an umbrella with you at all times and to dress in layers, as the conference venue is well heated. Average temperatures range from a minimum of 60C to a maximum of 150C.
Catering
Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch will be held in the registration foyer amongst the posters. Lunch will be served as an informal stand-up buffet with access to the courtyard should weather permit. We endeavour to ensure delegates with dietary requirements are catered for. Should you require particular assistance, please make a note on your registration form.
Dress code
The dress code for the conference and all social functions is as you wish.
Conference evaluation
The conference evaluation form will be e-mailed to you after the conference. You are encouraged to complete the conference evaluation as it assists us to plan future conferences.

The Deakin Waterfront campus has eduroam Wi-Fi access available for delegates.
Luggage
Luggage can be stored at the registration desk during the Conference although it will not be locked away.
